CATL: new 5C battery survives 3,000 cycles and 1.8 million km
CATL unveils the Shenxing Plus (LFP) battery with 5C charging (12 minutes), 3,000 cycles and up to 1.8 million km of range. See the market comparison and the impact on Poland's EV market.
The Avatr 06T is a Chinese Shooting Brake powered by Huawei electronics and CATL batteries. We examine its performance, range, interior and estimated price in the premium segment.

If you thought 2026 would bring us a moment of respite from the Chinese offensive, here's the news: you are wrong, as deep as the Mariana Trench.
The Avatr 06T has just arrived on the scene, with all the subtlety of a tiger crashing into a henhouse. This is not another boring electric substitute for a car whose sole mission is to transport your body from point A to point B in a sterile cloud of boredom.
This is a "Shooting Brake" – an automotive work of art for people who want to haul a fridge, scuba gear or a two-week supply of food for a Great Dane without looking like a frozen-food delivery driver in a work van.
| Model | Drivetrain / Power | 0-100 km/h | Range (WLTP/CLTC) | Price (estimated) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Avatr 06T (BEV) | AWD / 955 hp | 2.78 s | approx. 700 km | approx. 200,000 PLN |
| Zeekr 001 (FR) | AWD / 1265 hp | 2.02 s | 600 km | approx. 450,000 PLN |
| Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo | AWD / 476-761 hp | 2.8 – 5.1 s | 450 – 550 km | from 480,000 PLN |
| NIO ET5 Touring | AWD / 490 hp | 4.0 s | 435 – 560 km | approx. 260,000 PLN |
Avatr is not another garage-bound boutique marque we'll forget after two seasons. It is the fruit of a passionate collaboration between three technology powerhouses, each contributing its very best to this partnership.
The Chinese have stopped copying European cars. Now they set the standards, and we in Europe look like carriage makers in the age of the steam engine.
Changan – a group with vast experience in mass production – makes sure the car doesn't fall apart at the first kerb and that the suspension doesn't give up after meeting a typical Polish pothole.
CATL, the absolute global hegemon of battery cells, supplies cells with an energy density that only a few years ago looked like pure science fiction. And Huawei? Huawei has packed so much electronics into this car that your newest laptop looks like an abacus found in grandma's attic next to it.
The Avatr 06T is essentially a display of the designers' strength and arrogance. On the roof you won't find a shark-fin antenna – there stands proudly a next-generation LiDAR. It is a 192-line laser "eye" that scans the surroundings at a frequency beyond human comprehension, spotting obstacles from a distance of 250 metres.
That is 20% better than in previous iterations of the ADS system, which in practice means the car will notice a cyclist emerging from the fog before they even think about turning. The system processes data in real time, building a three-dimensional map of the environment that enables autonomous driving in conditions where most drivers give up after two kilometres.
Visually, the Avatr 06T is simply outrageously good-looking. It is nearly five metres long (exactly 4,940 mm), placing it in the same row as the biggest players on the market. Muscular wheel arches and a roofline that slopes down as gently as election promises create a silhouette a Stuttgart design studio would be proud of.
Instead of traditional mirrors that only add drag, we get slim cameras streaming the image directly to screens inside the cabin. The door handles, of course, retract flush with the body so they don't quarrel with aerodynamics. This car looks as if it had been sculpted from a single piece of matter by someone who spent the last decade on a science-fiction film set.
Let's get down to specifics, because the numbers here are absolutely ridiculous and beyond the limits of common sense. Forget sluggish diesels or stressed little engines with the displacement of a milk carton.
The top BEV (fully electric) version uses three motors generating a combined 955 hp. Yes, you read that right: almost a thousand horsepower in a family estate bound for ski trips. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.78 seconds.
That's faster than you can pronounce the full name of this model. It's a pace at which passengers may accidentally leave their breakfast on the rear window and the brain briefly wonders whether the frontal lobes are still in the right place.
But if you're afraid the battery will run out halfway to the lakes and charging cables will haunt your dreams, the Avatr 06T offers an EREV version. It is an electric trickster with a 1.5T petrol range extender. The combustion engine does not drive the wheels directly – it acts as an on-board power plant that generates electricity when the 45 kWh battery starts running low.
Thanks to this setup, the theoretical total range is 1,250 km. You can drive across Poland from Świnoujście to Ustrzyki Górne, and the only things that will need topping up are your smartphone and the passengers' patience.
What's more, 800V technology lets you recover 200 km of range in just 10 minutes at a fast charger. That's less time than it takes to drink an average latte at a service station.
Modern electric cars have got us used to high standards, but the Avatr 06T raises the bar even higher. Every detail here has been optimised for efficiency.
If you want to see how this model stacks up against the competition, it's worth visiting our catalogue, where you'll find the full set of technical specifications.
Inside, things aren't any worse. Forget analogue buttons or traditional knobs – that's a relic that went the way of crank-operated telephones. The command centre is a giant 15.6-inch screen, but that's only the appetiser.
The main course is a 35.4-inch panoramic display that stretches across beneath the windscreen, feeding both driver and front passenger with every piece of information they need.
The interior of this car has more in common with the bridge of a spaceship than with anything we've previously called a dashboard.
All of this runs on HarmonySpace 5, built on Huawei's HarmonyOS architecture. The system in the Avatr 06T is so fluid that it gives the impression it knows whether you're about to want smooth jazz or a weather forecast for Zakopane.
The seats? These are not ordinary stools upholstered in vegan leather. They are advanced chairs with a "Zero Gravity" mode. At the press of a button, the seat reclines into a position where the spine rests and body pressure is distributed so perfectly that you could fall asleep during a stop.
Rear passengers have also been pampered. Because the roofline of the Shooting Brake runs higher than in a classic saloon, they gain an extra 15 mm of headroom.
On paper it may look like a marginal figure, but in practice it means no ruined hairstyle over every bump and a comfortable journey for the taller occupants.
How much will this little treat cost us in Poland? Although official price lists are still shrouded in mystery, based on market realities we expect the Avatr 06T to start at around 160,000 PLN for the base versions.
For the most fully equipped AWD variants, with the full suite of autonomous systems and every luxury inside, you'll have to put nearly 200,000 PLN on the table. It's a price that makes a Tesla Model 3 start nervously glancing in the rear-view mirror and the competition sweat in the car parks.
The Avatr 06T is a car that says it bluntly: "Watch and learn how the premium segment is done in the 21st century." It is fast as gossip, packed with more technology than a secret NASA base, and simply looks better than European rivals trapped in styling from a decade ago.
Will it conquer Polish roads? If our drivers break through the natural scepticism towards anything "new", the Avatr 06T could become the hottest export from the Middle Kingdom since the invention of gunpowder.
This is not a car for shy introverts. It is a machine for someone who wants it all: supercar power, limousine comfort and estate practicality, all wrapped up in a design straight out of the year 2040.
When choosing modern electric cars, it's worth remembering that proper infrastructure is the key to success. With your own charger in the garage, daily use of the Avatr 06T becomes cheap and exceptionally convenient.
