Rimac Technology, a division of a well-known hypercar manufacturer, is working intensively on modern solid-state batteries intended to revolutionise the EV market. In partnership with ProLogium and Mitsubishi, the company is pushing to introduce this technology in a new Bugatti model as early as 2030.
The new 100 kWh battery outperforms current solutions, delivering 20-30% higher energy density. As a result, more power fits into a smaller space, which is key to efficiency. A lightweight composite construction from Mitsubishi further reduces the pack weight by 30 kg.
Rimac batteries offer not only greater safety but also faster charging. Although the company does not plan to mass-produce cheap batteries, it is opening the door to cooperation with larger manufacturers who would like to licence this technology.
Rimac focuses not only on batteries but also on electric drive axles that combine the motor, transmission and control electronics. Their design can be adapted to different drivetrain layouts, offering power from 149 kW to 350 kW.
