The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
Six packs in a light chassis is an unusual choice: this class usually saves mass, and here mass buys range. At 130 kW of continuous power and 150 kW of charging it is still an urban vehicle, just with a larger margin for the road. Orderable through Volvo Trucks Polska.
Strengths
- A 565 kWh battery and 450 km of range give the FL Electric the largest reserve in Volvo’s lighter family.
Weaknesses
- The 14 t variant has 145 kWh usable and about 200 km, so FL Electric also covers a configuration with much less range.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
CLASS CALL: the research brief listed the FL Electric as N2, but the EU categories put anything above 12 t GVW in N3, and the FL Electric is sold at 14, 16 and 18 t (product page: GCW up to 18.6 t). Recorded as N3 - it is the lightest truck in the Volvo range, not an N2 vehicle. Two distinct offers exist: (a) the mainstream FL Electric, 280-565 kWh in 3-6 packs, single motor with a 2-speed gearbox, up to 130 kW / 175 hp continuous, up to 450 km; (b) the 14-tonne entry variant launched 9 Dec 2025 with 145 kWh usable, a 180 kW motor, approx. 200 km, ground clearance 240 mm, wheelbases 3,800-6,500 mm, vehicle width down to 2.4 m, production from H2 2026. The two have different motor ratings, which is why motorPowerKwCont here is the 130 kW mainstream figure. On the market since 2019.
