The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
Four packs are the maximum and 275 km is what they fully deliver; with three it lands clearly lower. Charging at 150 kW fits an overnight stop and nothing more. In Poland it is used for urban distribution and refuse collection.
Strengths
- A 375 kWh battery, 275 km of range and 150 kW DC charging give the FE Electric a practical distribution profile.
Weaknesses
- Volvo gives 28 t as GCW in one place and 26 t in another, so the combination-weight limit remains inconsistent.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
N3 by EU classification (GVW well above 12 t) despite being Volvo's medium-duty model. CONFLICT: the FE Electric product page headline says 'gross vehicle weight of up to 28 tonnes' while the spec row is labelled 'Gross Combination Weight - Up to 28 tonnes'; the December 2025 press release instead says 'Volvo FE Electric versions with a GCW of up to 26 tonnes'. 28 t is recorded as gcwKg with gvwKg left null. Powertrain: two electric motors with a Volvo 2-speed gearbox, up to 225 kW / 300 hp continuous. On the market since 2019, so this is a long-running model that has been re-batteried more than once (earlier specs quoted 200-300 kWh). Only 4 usable press images found on Volvo's public site - the Volvo Trucks Media Hub (media.volvogroup.com/dam) would have more but requires registration.
