The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
The California executive order of 15 April 2026 makes those 805 km an official figure rather than a marketing one — a rarity across this whole set, and worth more in itself than somebody's claim of 1000 km. The 290,000 dollar sum comes from a customer quotation, not a configurator, because Tesla offers none. A European version is to be shown at the IAA fair.
Strengths
- Range confirmed by an official certification, not a claim.
Weaknesses
- The USD 290,000 price comes from a B2B quote without a public configurator, so it is not a conventional retail list price.

- MCS charging

- 106 kWh/100 km
- On charging
- Up to 1.2 MW peak on Tesla's Megacharger. IMPORTANT: this is NOT a proprietary Tesla connector - Tesla adopted the open Megawatt Charging System, and both the Megacharger and the 125 kW depot 'Basecharger' use an MCS 3.2 inlet, with ISO 15118-2 and OCPI support. Tesla claims up to ~60% of range added in about 30 minutes (some Tesla material says ~70%). Tesla sells the Megacharger (1.2 MW shared across two posts) from USD 188,000 ex tax/installation and the Basecharger from USD 40,000 (deliveries from early 2027). No CCS1 inlet is published for the Semi.

- Manufacturer / CARB Executive Order A-374-0095 (15 April 2026): 500 miles (805 km) on one charge at the full 82,000 lb (37.2 t) gross combination weight. This is the headline figure and it is stated at max GCW, not at part load.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
290,000 USD
Confidence: Medium
USD 290,000 is the figure Tesla quoted to a customer, reported by Electrek in February 2026 and since treated as the de-facto MSRP (Tesla's own incentive messaging also cites 'MSRP USD 290,000'). There is no public configurator - the Semi is sold B2B with a USD 20,000 per-truck reservation deposit. California stacking: HVIP gives USD 120,000 off (USD 150,000 for Class 8 drayage) and the Clean Fuel Reward can add a further ~USD 120,000, which Tesla says can take a small-fleet net price to about USD 50,000; HVIP rules cap total combined incentives at 90% of base price. CARB/HVIP allocated roughly USD 165M of vouchers against Tesla Semi requests. For scale, the 2017 reveal price was USD 180,000 for the 500-mile truck - superseded.

Not available in Poland
Not offered in PL. Tesla confirmed in August 2026 that a European-spec Semi will be revealed at IAA Transportation in Hannover (15-20 September 2026), where European specs and launch details are to be announced; as of 2026-08-27 there is no Polish order book, dealer or service channel.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
PRODUCTION STATUS (as of 2026-08-27): in volume production. Pilot builds were delivered to PepsiCo in December 2022; the dedicated Semi factory - a ~1.7 million sq ft plant next to Gigafactory Nevada in Sparks - reached volume production on 29 April 2026 with a nameplate capacity of 50,000 trucks/year. Analysts expect only ~5,000-15,000 deliveries in 2026 while the line ramps. A formal factory inauguration was reported for September 2026. CONNECTOR CORRECTION: the common assumption that the Megacharger is a proprietary Tesla plug is out of date - Tesla's 2026 charging products are specified as MCS 3.2, the open Megawatt Charging System, so third-party heavy trucks could in principle use a Megacharger. VARIANTS ARE STILL DISTINCT: the 2017 '300-mile / 500-mile' split survives as Standard Range (548 kWh, 325 mi) and Long Range (822 kWh, 500 mi) - see the separate record. BATTERY: 822 kWh from CARB EO A-374-0095; electrive describes the figure as both rated and usable, so no separate gross/usable split is published - recorded as gross only. Cells are Tesla's in-house 4680 with NCMA (nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminium) chemistry, mapped to 'NMC' here. Long Range reportedly uses three packs, Standard Range two. Curb weight ~23,000 lb (10.4 t). Efficiency 1.7 kWh/mile per CARB (~106 kWh/100 km); PepsiCo real-world operation has been reported at ~1.64 kWh/mile. Motor: three independent rear motors, 800 kW / ~1,072 hp peak, 525 kW sustained. EUROPE: no European sales yet. Tesla confirmed a European reveal at IAA Transportation Hannover, 15-20 September 2026; press reports say the European-spec truck swaps mirrors for camera monitor systems. Semis have appeared at IAA Transportation since 2024. CONFLICTS: Standard Range price is reported as both USD 250,000 and USD 260,000 - see that record. A 1.2 MW charging demo was published by Tesla in December 2025; earlier material cited 1 MW.
