The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
Tata offers two batteries — 300 and 450 kWh — so the claimed 350 km applies to the larger one. The manufacturer publishes no price, and the only figure found comes from an aggregator and was not confirmed at source. Not available outside India; Tata sells no trucks in the European Union.
Strengths
- A 450 kWh battery and 350 km of range give the Prima E.55S a clearly defined heavy-tractor profile.
Weaknesses
- Tata publishes no peak charging power, so even the 1.5-hour twin-gun recharge lacks full context.

- Manufacturer: up to 350 km on a single charge with the 450 kWh pack; the 300 kWh variant is quoted at the lower end of a 220-350 km band. 'Under standard test conditions' per an aggregator; Tata does not name a cycle.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.
In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.
No Tata-published price. The aggregator motorbazee.com lists an ex-showroom price of INR 11,000,000 (INR 1.1 crore) but the same listing also claims '8x4' and 'dual 300 L cryogenic LNG tanks' for a battery-electric truck, so that page's data is demonstrably contaminated and the price should not be relied on. Recorded here only as an unverified data point.
Poland
Not available in Poland
India-only. Tata Motors sells no heavy trucks in Poland or the EU.
Charging infrastructure
Recommended chargers
Chargers matched to the vehicle's published power or to a clearly stated duty profile when that figure is missing.
This vehicle does not publish its own DC charging power. The chargers below are matched to a charging profile typical for this class of vehicle (around 375 kW), not to a figure this vehicle publishes.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
IMAGE GAP - Tata Motors' CV press site does not expose clean press images and the aggregator images are unverified. Two battery variants: 300 kWh and 450 kWh LFP. Single rear-axle-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated 470 kW, torque quoted as 2,500 Nm by trade press and 2,455 Nm by an aggregator (minor conflict). Three-speed Auto Shift transmission, 28 % gradeability, described by Tata as India's first high-performance e-axle. GCW 55,000 kg. AXLE CONFIGURATION IS UNRESOLVED: Tata's naming convention (Prima 5530.S) implies a 4x2 tractor, but one aggregator lists 8x4 - left null rather than guessed. First batch delivered to BillionE Mobility on 10 April 2026 as part of a 250-unit order (BillionE targets 1,500), phased over 6-18 months across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi NCR and Haryana for steel, cement and industrial freight. A hydrogen variant of the Prima E.55S also appears in Indian listings - do not conflate.
