The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
Scania Polska quoted up to 440 km at 40 tonnes for this vehicle — a figure closer to Polish work than the manufacturer maximum of 560 km at 29 tonnes. A combination weight of 74 tonnes opens applications most electrics in this database do not touch. The first electric Scania tractor in Poland has been running since 2024.
Strengths
- A permitted 74 tonnes of combination weight reaches beyond this class's usual range.
Weaknesses
- Range changes from 560 km at 29 t to 515 km at 42 t and 360 km at 64 t, so weight quickly consumes the reserve.

- On charging
- CCS2 375 kW / 500 A DC - fully charged in 90 min with 560 kWh usable (mfr). One hour at 375 kW adds ~280-300 km. MCS 750 kW / 1000 A orderable from the beginning of 2026; Scania positions it as a 'charge during the rest break' strategy taking the pack from ~20 % to ~75 %. Scania has demonstrated bidirectional (V2G) operation at up to 750 kW.

- manufacturer maximum with 560 kWh usable at 29 t GTW; 515 km at 42 t GTW; 360 km at 64 t GTW. Scania Polska quoted up to 440 km at 40 t GCW on the 624 kWh installed pack. Scania claims ranges 'well beyond 800 km' in a day when MCS charging is used during the statutory driver rest break.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.
In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.
No public list price - Scania quotes 'auf Anfrage' / on request in every market checked. Polish trade survey puts a Scania 45 R/S BEV at PLN 1.8-2.4 m net, against an NFOSiGW grant of up to PLN 750k per N3 vehicle and operating leasing of PLN 22-35k/month net over 60 months (kurierpoznan.pl, 2026). German trade reference for the heavy e-truck segment generally: EUR 240,000-450,000 (e-lkw24.de). Scania's Polish BEV page shows 'Ceny juz od 91 400 EUR' but that is the buy.scania.com used/stock-vehicle marketplace entry point, NOT a new 45 R list price - do not use it.

Available in Poland
Sold and serviced by Scania Polska through the full Polish dealer network. Poland's first electric Scania tractor was a 45 R (624 kWh installed, 450 kW continuous) handed to Schavemaker Intermodal in June 2024 for a ~270 km Kalisz/Leszno - Katy Wroclawskie shuttle run four times a day. PepsiCo Polska added a 45 R in April 2025 (Tomaszow Mazowiecki - Mszczonow, operated by Trans-PLUS). Scania Polska also opened Poland's first heavy-truck charging hub in 2024.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
NAMING: Scania's BEV designations encode continuous power in tens of kW plus the cab letter - 40 R/40 S = 400 kW (540 hp), 45 R/45 S = 450 kW (610 hp). The R and S variants are the same truck with different cabs, so this record covers both; a separate 40-series record is filed as scania-40-r-bev. Scania markets no separate 'model'; it is one modular BEV platform with cab (L/P/G/R/S/CrewCab), axle (4x2, 6x2, 6x2*4, 6x4, 8x4*4), axle distance 3250-6350 mm and battery (240/320/400/480/560 kWh usable) all configurable. 'Super' is Scania's COMBUSTION driveline designation and does not apply to BEVs - there is no 'Super BEV'. BATTERY CONFLICT: Scania publishes both 'up to 600 km at 728 kWh installed, 83 % SoC window, 29 t GTW' (product page) and a 560 kWh usable top option. The pack ladder is internally consistent at ~104 kWh installed / 80 kWh usable per pack (3 packs 312/240, 4 packs 416/320, 5 packs 520/400, 6 packs 624/480, 7 packs 728/560), so 728 kWh installed and 560 kWh usable are treated as the same seventh-pack configuration here - but the '83 % SoC window' phrasing would imply ~604 kWh usable, which Scania nowhere offers. Flagged for an editor. CELL SUPPLY: cells were originally Northvolt (packs assembled in Sodertalje). After Northvolt's insolvency Scania switched to NMC packs from sister brand MAN, assembled in Nuremberg, rated 89 kWh gross / 80 kWh net per pack - on that basis seven packs are 623 kWh gross, not 728 kWh. Both figures appear in current sources. THE SEVENTH PACK sits under the cab and was opened for order on 27 May 2026, together with MCS. EARLIER RANGE FIGURES: at the June 2022 launch Scania quoted 410 kW continuous and up to 350 km for a 4x2 tractor with six batteries; the 2023 'next level BEV' release quoted 400/450 kW and up to 390 km. Current figures supersede these. Torque is not published by Scania for the C3-6 machine; a Spanish trade outlet quoted 2,800 Nm but this is unverified, so the field is left null.
