Renault Trucks E-Tech T T 540 (4x2)

540 kWh and up to 450 km, but measured at 32 tonnes of combination weight — the E-Tech T 540 is the regional version, not the long-haul one.

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

The footnote about 32 tonnes matters more here than the figure itself: a vehicle rated to 42 tonnes will cover less at full load. Charging at 250 kW is a middling level, clearly below the 350 kW of the 585 and 780 versions. Renault Trucks Polska advertises up to 60 percent of public co-funding.

Strengths

  • A 450 km range from a 540 kWh battery and 250 kW charging place the E-Tech T 540 clearly in the regional segment.

Weaknesses

  • The claimed 450 km was measured at 32 tonnes, not at the permitted 42.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

Renault Trucks publishes no list price. Renault Trucks Polska advertises up to 60% public co-funding for electric trucks but does not publish base prices.

Poland

Available in Poland

Renault Trucks Polska sells the full E-Tech range; renault-trucks.pl lists 'T 540/585/780 E-TECH' and runs a page on subsidies of up to 60% for electric trucks. Renault Trucks Polska moved to a new head office in Tluste in 2025.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

The original series E-Tech T, in series production at Bourg-en-Bresse since late 2023. Battery 360-540 kWh in 4-6 packs of 90 kWh; Renault does not publish a usable-energy figure for this variant. Renault publishes power as 'up to 330-490 kW (450-666 hp)' with an Optidriver gearbox, which reads as a continuous-to-peak band, but the labels are not explicit - only the 490 kW top figure is recorded, as peak. Available as tractor (4x2, 6x2) and rigid (4x2, 6x2); GCW up to 42 t per the UK product page. Battery energy is guaranteed for up to 8 years or 1 million km under the Serenity Pack (electrive reported in June 2026 that the standard warranty was cut to 6 years / 720,000 km, aligning with Volvo, with the Serenity Pack extending to 10 years / 1 million km). Mechanically this is the Renault-badged sibling of the Volvo FH/FM Electric.
