The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Peterbilt and Kenworth belong to PACCAR and share the driveline and battery here, differing in cab and dealer network — comparing their performance misses the point. Announced on 9 December 2025, orders open immediately, deliveries from 2026. No price given.

Strengths

  • A 250 kWh usable battery, 322 km of range and 350 kW charging define a clear distribution configuration.

Weaknesses

  • First deliveries are expected only in 2026, so the 536EV remains pre-production without a confirmed fleet.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

Announced 9 December 2025 with the 537EV and 548EV; orders open immediately, first deliveries expected 2026. CLASS: Peterbilt's own spec panel says Class 6 with a 26,000 lb GVWR (11,793 kg). The schema enum has no Class 6 value, so vehicleClass is set to 'Class 7' as the nearest medium-duty bucket - the true class is 6. Max power 470 hp with 1,100 lb-ft (1,491 Nm); Kenworth publishes the equivalent PACCAR rating as 350 kW peak. Front axle 13,200 lb, rear 17,000 lb. ePTO 25 kW. Single 250 kWh usable battery option per Peterbilt's page, although trade press describes 'two options with max 280-mile range' across the 536/537/548 family - the 375 kWh option appears on the 537EV and 548EV.
