The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Charging at just 105 kW is no flaw here: the vehicle stands in the yard all night and needs energy for a shift, not for a journey. That disproportion — huge mass, modest charging — is typical of the whole category and shows neatly why yards electrify faster than long-haul freight does. Fleet quotation.

Strengths

  • Charges where it parks — no public infrastructure needed.

Weaknesses

  • The 310 kWh pack charges through a 105 kW-or-higher CCS system, so a large energy reserve does not mean a short stop.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No public list price. Orange EV quotes per fleet. Terminal tractors sit in a different California HVIP category from Class 8 road tractors and no MSRP is published there either.

Poland

Not available in Poland

Not offered in PL. Orange EV sells terminal tractors in North America only.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

USE CASE IS YARD/TERMINAL, not road haulage - this is a Class 8 yard dog, so range and highway specs do not apply and are deliberately null rather than guessed. Orange EV was the first US manufacturer to commercially deploy and scale 100% electric Class 8 vehicles. The HUSK-e Series launched September 2023 with more battery, pulling power, speed and acceleration than the earlier T-Series. SPECS: 243 kWh and 310 kWh LFP packs (LFP chosen over NMC for longevity and safety); GCWR up to 180,000 lb (81,647 kg), enough to pull a bomb cart with twin loaded 20 ft containers at up to 32 mph; 105+ kW CCS1 charging, full recharge in about two hours on the 243 kWh pack. batteryGrossKwh records the larger 310 kWh option. Motor power and torque are not published by Orange EV in kW/Nm - left null. Orange EV opened a new Kansas City facility in 2025. Strong 2024-2026 order flow including 96 units for APM Terminals Elizabeth. Company is independent and healthy - a contrast with most other names in this group.
