Mercedes-Benz Trucks eActros 400 second generation (eActros 600 platform)

414 kWh and up to 480 km with 400 kW charging — the eActros 400 is the cheaper way into the platform the eActros 600 stands on.

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Two packs instead of three mean less battery mass and more payload, not merely less range — in heavy distribution that is often the better arithmetic. The 480 km is quoted for a 6x2 platform chassis with a dry box body, partially loaded, at 20 degrees; a real winter route will land lower. Available in Poland alongside the 600.

Strengths

  • The smaller battery gives back payload that three packs take away.

Weaknesses

  • The 400 kW CCS setup is not paired with MCS here, because Mercedes reserves megawatt charging for the eActros 600.

Manufacturer: up to 480 km for a 6x2 platform chassis with dry box body, partially loaded, 20 degC ambient (heavy-duty distribution profile). The 4x2 semitrailer tractor with L-cab and two packs is quoted at up to 330 km in long-haul at 40 t GCW. Headline 480 km taken from the manufacturer's own example.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No public list price. Mercedes-Benz Trucks positions the two-pack eActros 400 as 'a more attractively priced entry into electromobility' than the three-pack eActros 600 and states explicitly that the number of battery packs determines range, payload AND purchase price - but publishes no figure. No dealer listing for the second-generation eActros 400 was found during research (model only entered production at the end of 2025).

Poland

Available in Poland

Yes. Listed alongside the eActros 600 on the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Polska site (mercedes-benz-trucks.com/pl/pl/trucks/eactros.html) with the 414 kWh / two-pack configuration; orderable through the Polish MB Trucks dealer network. No specific Polish fleet delivery of the second-generation eActros 400 was confirmed during research.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

This is the SECOND-GENERATION eActros 400 (world premiere 30.09.2025 at Molsheim, France), built on the eActros 600 platform - do not confuse it with the 2021 eActros 400, which is a different vehicle (448 kWh NMC, 330/400 kW) and is recorded separately as mercedes-benz-eactros-400-2021. Two 207 kWh LFP packs = 414 kWh installed, over 95 % usable (Mercedes gives no kWh figure, so batteryUsableKwh is null; approx. 393 kWh implied). Same 800 V architecture, integrated e-axle with two motors and four-speed transmission as the eActros 600. Roughly 1.5 t lighter than the eActros 600, giving over 3 t more payload; maximum fifth-wheel load rises to 9.5 t and combined payload with a standard semitrailer exceeds 25 t, level with a diesel tractor. Axle/wheelbase options: 4x2 semitrailer tractor 3,700 mm; 4x2 platform chassis 4,000 / 5,500 / 5,800 / 6,100 mm; 6x2 platform chassis in six wheelbases between 4,000 and 5,800 mm. Together the 400 and 600 give 'over 40 combinations'. An eActros 400 Lowliner 4x2 tractor was announced for order from Q3 2026, series production Q2 2027. Orders opened October 2025 for EU30 and selected non-EU markets; series production started at Woerth in early December 2025. The gcwKg of 40,000 is the weight at which Mercedes quotes the 330 km long-haul figure - a 44 t rating comparable to the eActros 600 was not confirmed for this model, so treat 40 t as the documented figure rather than the ceiling.
