Buying decision

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

MAN quotes 820 km for a 4x2 chassis and 830 km for a 6x2, but a tractor with a semitrailer is 570 km and only that number describes long-haul work. MCS charging at 750 kW entered series production on 30 July 2026. The first eTGX sold in Poland went to the carrier Tobi; MAN publishes no price list.

Strengths

  • Already sold to a Polish haulier, not merely announced.

Weaknesses

  • 820 km applies to the 4x2 chassis, 830 km to the 6x2 chassis and 570 km to the tractor with a semitrailer, so the headline depends on configuration.

manufacturer maximum, 4x2 semitrailer tractor, one charge with no intermediate charging; up to 820 km as a 4x2 chassis and 830 km as a 6x2 chassis. MAN states daily mileages of over 1,000 km within standard driving hours when MCS charging is used mid-shift. Older MAN figures for the tractor: 480 kWh -> 400 km, 400 kWh -> 325 km, 320 kWh -> 260 km.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

MAN publishes no list price - German trade press confirms 'Kaufpreise sind ausschliesslich auf Anfrage erhaeltlich'. Polish trade survey: PLN 1.7-2.2 m net for the eTGX/eTGS, against an NFOSiGW grant of up to PLN 750k per N3 vehicle and operating leasing at PLN 22-35k/month net over 60 months. German segment reference: EUR 240,000-450,000 for heavy e-trucks. An unverified figure of about USD 350,000 / EUR 320,000 circulates on EV aggregator sites (electronsx, motorwatt) - it has no manufacturer or dealer backing and should not be published as a price. Germany's KsNI purchase-subsidy programme was discontinued on 1 January 2024.

Poland

Available in Poland

Sold by MAN Trucks Polska. The first eTGX sold in Poland went to the carrier Tobi; Danone is named by MAN as a Polish eTruck fleet customer in its 5-million-km milestone release. Polish trade pricing surveys list the eTGX/eTGS alongside the Scania and Mercedes long-haul BEVs, so it is treated as fully orderable in Poland. Note that MAN's forthcoming 16 t eTGM will be built at MAN's Krakow plant.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

TIMELINE: unveiled and opened for sale October 2023; roughly 200 pre-series units to selected customers during 2024; series production started at MAN's mixed diesel/electric Munich line in June 2025 (capacity up to 100 vehicles/day); MCS-equipped series production started 30 July 2026 with first deliveries to Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Spain. modelYearFrom is set to 2024 (first customer units); series year is 2025. BATTERY CONFLICT: MAN's model pages state usable capacity (320-480 kWh for the 4x2 semitrailer tractor, 240-480 kWh 4x2 chassis, 240-560 kWh 6x2 chassis). The MCS press release quotes 'total battery capacity' of 534 kWh for six packs and 623 kWh for seven - those are gross. Pack maths is consistent at 89 kWh gross / 80 kWh net per pack. The seven-pack (623 gross / 560 net) option is a chassis configuration; the 4x2 tractor tops out at six packs (534 gross / 480 net). Fields here carry the model maximum. POWER: three ratings - 254 kW (333 hp) / 800 Nm, 330 kW (449 hp) / 1,150 Nm, 400 kW (544 hp) / 1,250 Nm; MAN also quotes them as 245/330/400 kW continuous. Central electric drive unit (motor + inverter + transmission) with a 2- or 4-speed gearbox depending on rating. CONSUMPTION: 90 kWh/100 km is MAN's own real-world average across the ~200-vehicle pre-series fleet over 5 million km - a fleet average, not a homologated figure. WEIGHTS: GCW up to 50 t across all variants; GVW up to 20 t as a 4x2 chassis and 28 t as a 6x2 chassis (the field carries 28 t). Axle configurations 4x2, 6x2-2 and 6x2-4. Shortest semitrailer-tractor wheelbase 3,750 mm. A UK demonstration unit was specified at 42,000 kg GCW with 9,000 kg front / 11,500 kg rear axles. ORDERS: ~800 heavy e-trucks on the books shortly after series production started (mid-2025), with a stated goal of passing 1,000 by year end.
