The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Five battery strings and 625 kWh is the most in Kenworth's range, and vocational work — mixers, tippers, cranes — needs energy not for travel but for running a body on the spot. The HVIP voucher is 120,000 dollars in Class 8. It premiered at the ACT Expo at the end of April 2025.

Strengths

  • A 625 kWh usable battery, 402 km of range and 350 kW charging give the truck a complete heavy-vocational profile.

Weaknesses

  • 402 km is the maximum with five 625 kWh packs, while other configurations have shorter range, making extra energy a costly option.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No published MSRP. California HVIP lists the T880E with a $120,000 base Class 8 voucher (and $150,000 for drayage tractors) but publishes no base price.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

Launched at ACT Expo on 28-29 April 2025 as, in Kenworth's words, the industry's first Class 8 vocational battery-electric truck, alongside the next-gen T680E; orders opened immediately with deliveries from later in 2025 and HVIP carries MY2025 and MY2026 executive orders. Shares the PACCAR ePowertrain with the T680E and Peterbilt 567EV: central-drive midship eMotor plus a 3-speed transmission, 365-470 hp continuous / up to 605 hp peak, 1,850 lb-ft (2,508 Nm). The T880E gets a fifth battery string the T680E does not (625 kWh, 250+ miles). PACCAR quotes usable capacity, so batteryGrossKwh is null. Up to 82,000 lb GVWR/GCWR (37,195 kg). Available as a 6x4 truck or tractor with set-back or set-forward front axle, customisable wheelbase, lift axles, heavy rear suspensions, and factory high- and low-voltage ePTO ports plus a mechanical ePTO. No MCS - CCS1 only.
