The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
The progress here is measurable: a battery a quarter larger gives a route a third longer, because it was not only the pack that improved but the whole driveline. A California HVIP voucher of 120,000 dollars, or 150,000 in drayage work, stands in for the unpublished list price. The battery is modular, from two to four strings.
Strengths
- The HVIP voucher gives a real figure where there is no price list.
Weaknesses
- The 322 km range requires the 500 kWh pack, while the smaller 250 and 375 kWh variants deliver a clearly shorter result.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.
In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.
No published MSRP. California HVIP no longer publishes base MSRP - it lists only the $120,000 base Class 8 voucher and $150,000 for drayage. The only public price signal found is a TruckPaper dealer listing summary quoting a new T680E day cab at $365,000, which is a single dealer listing and not a manufacturer figure; ev.care quotes 'USD 400,000+' but cites no source and its other T680E specs (440 kWh) do not match Kenworth's. Neither figure is reliable enough to record as priceUsd.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
Two generations. Gen 1 (launched 2021, first Kenworth Class 8 BEV): 396 kWh, ~150 miles, Meritor Blue Horizon 14Xe tandem e-axle, 536 hp continuous / 670 hp peak, 1,623 lb-ft, curb weight 22,500 lb, offered at 54,000 and 82,000 lb GVWR, CCS1 at 150 kW with ~3-3.3 h charge. Gen 2, unveiled at ACT Expo 28 April 2025 and recorded here: fully PACCAR-integrated ePowertrain with a central-drive midship eMotor and 3-speed transmission, three battery-string options 250/375/500 kWh, 350 kW charging, 200+ miles, orders opened immediately with deliveries from later in 2025. PACCAR quotes USABLE capacity for these packs (confirmed by the sister Peterbilt 579EV HVIP spec sheet), so batteryGrossKwh is null. POWER FIGURES: Kenworth's product page says the ePowertrain runs 'from 350kW/470hp to 450kW/605hp peak' while the press release says 365-470 hp continuous with up to 605 hp peak - so 470 hp appears both as a continuous rating and as an entry peak rating. Recorded 350 kW continuous / 450 kW peak as the top ratings. 1,850 lb-ft converted to 2,508 Nm; 82,000 lb converted to 37,195 kg. Day cab only, tractor or straight truck, 6x4. No MCS - CCS1 only.
