The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Announced on 9 December 2025 alongside the T380E and T480E — Kenworth abandoned cab-over layouts and returned to the classic arrangement, which matters more to an American buyer than the specification does. Only one battery is offered, so configuration is simple. Orders open, production from 2026.

Strengths

  • A 250 kWh usable battery and 322 km of range pair the sole pack with charging up to 350 kW.

Weaknesses

  • Production is scheduled for 2026, but without a confirmed delivery the T280E remains pre-production.
