JAC (Anhui Jianghuai) - Gallop heavy truck Gallop Jingshen (格尔发 京深) 6x4 charge-and-swap electric tractor

246 kW per motor or 246 kW combined — JAC doesn't settle how much power the Gallop Jingshen, a Chinese electric swap tractor, actually makes.

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

This tractor settles whether JAC builds a heavy electric semi tractor at all — it is the Gallop Jingshen, the same Tesla Semi-styled truck CleanTechnica photographed in China in August 2023, with charging and battery-swapping combined in one LFP system. The manufacturer quotes 435 km of range at a constant 40 km/h — the most optimistic figure Chinese type approval publishes — and CleanTechnica reports only about 350 km. Motor power is disputed: one source gives 246 kW as the combined peak output, the other describes two motors at 246 kW each, so both power fields are left blank rather than guessed. The truck is sold only in China, at 25,000 kg GVW and 820 Nm of torque, with no list price — comparable Chinese swap tractors run 700,000-830,000 yuan.

Strengths

  • Combining charging and battery swapping in one system means the driver isn't forced to choose between the two.

Weaknesses

  • The claimed 435 km comes from a constant 40 km/h test; CleanTechnica reports a more realistic figure of about 350 km.

Battery and charging

On charging
Charge-and-swap integrated (充换电一体) with bottom-mounted swap (底置换电技术). JAC signed a heavy-truck battery-swap partnership with SPIC's Shanghai Qiyuan Green Power in September 2022, and in July 2025 completed China's first integrated commercial-vehicle swap test with CATL/EVOGO's Choco-SEB, exchanging a full pack in 150 seconds. No swap time is published for this specific tractor.

Manufacturer 40 km/h constant-speed test (40km/h等速续航), which is the most optimistic figure Chinese type approvals publish - real laden range will be far lower. CleanTechnica reported 'about 350 km' for the same truck. Treat 435 km as a lab number.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No guide price published (yunshuren.com shows 暂无报价 / 'no quote'). Comparable Chinese 6x4 swap tractors list at CNY 700,000-830,000.

Poland

Not available in Poland

n/a - China-only. JAC sells light commercial EVs in some EU markets but no heavy truck.

Charging infrastructure

Recommended chargers

Chargers matched to the vehicle's published power or to a clearly stated duty profile when that figure is missing.

This vehicle does not publish its own DC charging power. The chargers below are matched to a charging profile typical for this class of vehicle (around 350 kW), not to a figure this vehicle publishes.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

SETTLES THE OPEN QUESTION: JAC does build a heavy battery-electric tractor. It is the Gallop Jingshen (格尔发京深) 6x4 charge-and-swap tractor, carried as a live product with a full type-approval spec sheet on yunshuren.com, and it is the same centre-driver-seat, Tesla-Semi-styled truck CleanTechnica photographed in China in August 2023. Type approval: motor TZ310XS-LKM0823 (Suzhou Green Control), 112 kW rated, 246 kW peak, 820 Nm, LFP pack rated 466 Ah, 7.975 x 2.55 x 3.95 m, wheelbase 4550+1350 mm, curb 11,000 kg, GVW 25,000 kg, ground clearance 300 mm, turning circle 19.5 m, 10 wheels. CONFLICT: yunshuren reads the 246 kW as the combined dual-motor peak, while CleanTechnica reports 'two electric motors, 246 kW each' with an 89 km/h top speed - so total peak output is either ~246 kW or ~492 kW. Neither was independently confirmed, so both motor fields are left null. Battery capacity in kWh is not published anywhere I could find (only the 466 Ah cell rating), so batteryGrossKwh is null rather than back-calculated. JAC's other electrified trucks are lighter: the N55 EV (~5.5 t) and the EV5 (150-second swap, 285 km claimed). Confidence LOW on the spec block because the powertrain conflict is unresolved; HIGH on the existence question.
