The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

The programme was shown in April 2025 and closing it cost Traton a 149.3 million dollar write-off in the third quarter of the same year — one of the few cases where the cost of abandoning electrification is stated outright. Penske was to be the first customer. One official render exists and nothing else.

Strengths

  • Up to 483 km of range and 500 kWh usable battery defined a concrete target for a Class 8 regional tractor.

Weaknesses

  • The programme was closed before series production.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

Never priced - the programme was terminated before series production.

Poland

Not available in Poland

North American Class 8 tractor, cancelled before production. Never offered in Europe. n/a for Poland.

Charging infrastructure

Recommended chargers

Chargers matched to the vehicle's published power or to a clearly stated duty profile when that figure is missing.

This vehicle does not publish its own DC charging power. The chargers below are matched to a charging profile typical for this class of vehicle (around 350 kW), not to a figure this vehicle publishes.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

CANCELLED. Introduced at ACT Expo on 23 April 2025 as International's first Class 8 battery-electric regional-haul tractor, with series production due in H1 2026 and Penske as the first demonstration fleet. Traton booked USD 149.3 million of eRH termination expenses in Q3 2025 and the programme was cancelled. Traton CEO Christian Levin: 'Demand simply isn't there right now' and 'Regulatory changes in the U.S. have impacted our sales in this region', while stating the company has not abandoned the market. SPECS as announced: NMC batteries, 300-500 kWh usable; up to 300 miles range; 4x2 and 6x4 axle configurations with tandem and single eAxle options; 113 in bumper-to-back-of-cab; three driver-selectable regenerative braking levels; Bendix Fusion ADAS. Charging power, motor power, torque and weights were never published - all left null. batteryUsableKwh carries the top announced option (500 kWh); the 300 kWh entry option is noted here.
