Electra Commercial Vehicles eStar

420 kWh on a 37-tonne chassis is the top of the eStar platform — Electra publishes none of the range, motor power, or charging figures to go with it.

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

The eStar isn't Electra's own chassis but a powertrain fitted to a Mercedes-Benz Econic donor chassis (a glider), and the modular 140-420 kWh pack lets Electra build bodies across three weights: 19, 27, and 37 tonnes. This is the heaviest configuration, 37 tonnes at 420 kWh, but with no published range, motor power, or charging figures. No Polish distributor is listed, though a left-hand-drive version is technically on offer.

Strengths

  • One donor chassis covers refuse collection, tankers, mixers, crane grabs, highway maintenance, and airside refuellers.

Weaknesses

  • Electra gives the eStar a 420 kWh pack but publishes neither range, motor power nor charging figures for the platform.

Measurement basis
Electra publishes battery size per platform (140-420 kWh) but no range figure for the eStar; range depends entirely on the body and duty cycle

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No public price. Electra quotes per vehicle and offers finance and maintenance packages; it publishes no list price for any platform.

Poland

Polish availability not established

No Polish distributor listed. Electra states its vehicles are available in right- or left-hand drive and it maintains a distributor page, so a left-hand-drive EU build is technically on offer, but nothing published confirms a Polish sale.

Charging infrastructure

Recommended chargers

Chargers matched to the vehicle's published power or to a clearly stated duty profile when that figure is missing.

This vehicle does not publish its own DC charging power. The chargers below are matched to a charging profile typical for this class of vehicle (around 350 kW), not to a figure this vehicle publishes.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

RETROFIT / GLIDER CONVERSION. Donor chassis: Daimler Truck AG / Mercedes-Benz glider - the low-entry Econic in most of the press imagery. Electra buys OEM glider chassis and installs its own modular battery and driveline. Published platform envelope: 4x2, 6x2 and 8x4; 19 t, 27 t and 37 t GVW; 140-420 kWh battery; right- or left-hand drive; 3-year chassis warranty. Electra publishes NO motor power, range or charging figures for the platform, so those are left null rather than borrowed from a sibling. Applications listed include RCV, tankers, mixers, crane grabs, highways maintenance and airside refuellers, which is why bodyType is recorded as rigid and useCase as vocational even though ambient and chilled logistics bodies are also offered. Electra Commercial Vehicles is based at Armytage Road, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, with a Blackburn number on the site; it is trading normally as of Aug 2026 (site copyright 2026, a June 2026 news item about an electric hotbox truck with Marvtech). Customer list on the site includes Veolia, Biffa, Brakes, Warburtons, BrewDog, Emirates, City of London and a long list of UK councils. Electra also offers a Deliver-E platform (Isuzu glider, 7.5-8.6 t, 140 kWh) which is N2 and is not given a separate record here, and a hydrogen variant.
