Designwerk Low Cab

508 kWh and 200 km at a consumption of 209 kWh per 100 km — the Low Cab is a refuse chassis and its numbers must be read that way.

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

A consumption of 209 kWh per 100 km looks dramatic next to a long-haul tractor, but it describes work where the vehicle stops every few dozen metres and powers a body — here the measure is not kilometres but the number of collection points served. The low entry is a crew-safety requirement, not styling. Built on the Mercedes Econic platform.

Strengths

  • A 432 kWh usable battery and 350 kW DC charging give the Low Cab a concrete heavy-body profile.

Weaknesses

  • A 200 km range at 209 kWh/100 km shows that this configuration pays for heavy work in energy use.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No list price published.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

Low-entry municipal/refuse chassis on the Mercedes Econic platform - the current production successor to the Futuricum Collect 26E. Only two battery sets are offered: 381 kWh installed / 324 usable, and 508 / 432 (85 % release rate). GVW up to 28 t, base 6x2R. Designwerk's overview page still shows the Low Cab front render as a placeholder file ('Low-Cab-Front-1136x1136px-platzhalter.jpg'), which I have deliberately not listed as a reference image.
