The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

The XG+ cab was built for living on the road, and 500 km covers one shift, not a week across Europe. The entry version is three packs and 315 kWh — at that capacity the long-haul conversation ends. Production started in May 2026.

Strengths

  • 325 kW of charging and 500 km of range show that the XG Electric is defined by both its battery size and its speed of returning to the road.

Weaknesses

  • The cab promises a long-haul role that 500 km of range does not close.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

No public list price. DAF's production-start release gives no pricing.

Poland

Available in Poland

Listed on the Polish DAF site (daftrucks.pl/pl-pl/trucks/daf-xf-xg-xgplus-electric) and the 6 May 2026 production-start release is republished on DAF Trucks Polska. First customer delivery went to a German operator (Hellmold & Plank); no Polish delivery confirmed yet.

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

Introduced 14 Jan 2026, series production started 6 May 2026 in Eindhoven on the same line as the XD and XF Electric; first customer truck an XG+ tractor with the 350 kW EX-D2 to German operator Hellmold & Plank. This is the largest-cab long-haul variant of the same platform - the 'largest announced pack' for DAF is the five-string 525 kWh gross battery, identical to XD/XF. Only the EX-D2 (270/310/350 kW, 2,400 Nm) is offered. Battery options 315 / 420 / 525 kWh gross (no 210 kWh 2-pack). Cab volume up to 12.5 m3. Axle configurations FAS/FAN/FAT/FAW rigids and FT/FTG/FTN tractors. MCS: electrive states explicitly that whether DAF's electric trucks will get an MCS port in future 'remains unclear' - nothing announced. Kept as a separate record from the XF because DAF sells and configures XG/XG+ as distinct models, but the driveline data are shared with daf-xf-electric.
