The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
Five packs give 500 km, two about 200 km — this is not one truck but a span, and every kilometre of range costs mass you will not carry as payload. 325 kW of charging is enough to fit inside a driver's break. Orderable in Poland through DAF Trucks Polska, with no published price.
Strengths
- 325 kW of charging fits a refill inside the driver's break.
Weaknesses
- The 500 km range needs all five packs, and they are paid for in mass.

- manufacturer: 'over 500 km' on one charge with the five-pack 525 kWh battery; the full span across 2-5 packs is roughly 200 km to over 500 km. DAF also claims up to 1,000 electric km per day with intermediate charging.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.
In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.
No public list price. DAF does not publish prices for the Electric range and neither the Polish nor the Dutch press coverage of the Skibitrans purchase quotes a figure.
Poland
Available in Poland
Yes - orderable via DAF Trucks Polska (daftrucks.pl/pl-pl/trucks/daf-xd-electric). First Polish XD Electric ran as a demonstrator with intermodal operator Skibitrans from early 2026, supplied by dealer TB Truck & Trailer Serwis; Skibitrans then bought a 350 kW / 525 kWh unit. DAF has one of the largest dealer/service networks in Poland.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
Generation: the XD Electric was announced in 2023 but series production only started in September 2025 at a dedicated line in Eindhoven (electrive reports the launch slipped ~2.5 years from a planned spring 2023). The production truck uses PACCAR's own EX-D1/EX-D2 e-motors with a 3-speed ZF gearbox, not the earlier ZF CeTrax package. XD and XF Electric were jointly voted International Truck of the Year 2026. Battery is GROSS capacity: 210 / 315 / 420 / 525 kWh (2-5 packs); DAF's brochure says up to 88 % of installed capacity is usable but publishes no usable kWh, so that field is null. Motors: EX-D1 at 170 / 220 / 270 kW and EX-D2 at 270 / 310 / 350 kW. TORQUE CONFLICT: the DAF press release quotes 1,500 Nm (EX-D1) and 2,400 Nm (EX-D2), while the daf.global XD product page tabulates 930 Nm and 1,370 Nm for the same motors - the higher pair are almost certainly maximum and the lower pair nominal/continuous. Manufacturer press figure (2,400 Nm) recorded. Weights from the March 2026 UK technical brochure: GVM 21.5 t (FA/FT), 29 t (FAS/FAG/FAN/FTG/FTN), 30-31 t (FAT, XDC only), 39 t (FAW); GCM 50 t except FAG at 29 t. Axle configurations: FA, FAS, FAG, FAN, FAT, FAW rigids and FT, FTG, FTN tractors, i.e. 4x2 / 6x2 / 6x4 / 8x2. Recorded 6x2 as the representative distribution config. XDC Electric is the off-road/construction derivative on the same driveline. e-PTO 25 or 90 kW (650 V). No MCS announced or hinted at by DAF; electrive explicitly notes DAF has left MCS capability open. Battery warranty 4 MWh/kWh throughput or 8 years.
