DAF Trucks XB Electric

282 kWh and over 350 km in a 19-tonne distribution chassis — the XB Electric is the DAF that does not pretend it will go long-haul.

Buying decision

The EvCompass verdict

The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.

Range here depends on the number of packs, so 350 km is the top of the band, not the starting point. 150 kW of charging fits the rhythm of a distribution day: unloading takes longer than topping up. DAF publishes no prices for any electric model, so the comparison against diesel only starts at the dealer.

Strengths

  • Orderable through the DAF Trucks Polska network with a Polish product page.

Weaknesses

  • 150 kW is the XB Electric’s DC-charging limit, lower than on DAF’s other heavier electric trucks.

Price and availability

What it costs and whether it is available in Poland

Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.

The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.

In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.

DAF publishes no list price for any Electric model and no dealer or leasing listing with a usable figure was found for the XB Electric.

Poland

Available in Poland

Orderable through DAF Trucks Polska - dedicated Polish product page at daftrucks.pl/pl-pl/trucks/new-generation-daf-xb-electric and the standard DAF PL dealer/service network. No confirmed Polish XB Electric delivery found in DAF PL press.

Sources and research

Research notes

The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.

Class: DAF offers the XB Electric at 12 t, 16 t and 19 t GVM. Only the 12 t version is N2; 16 t and 19 t are N3. Recorded as N3 because the 19 t is the headline variant. Battery: DAF quotes GROSS capacity (141 / 210 / 282 kWh). DAF's own technical brochure states the trucks can use 'up to an industry-leading 88 % of their total installed energy capacity' - so usable is roughly 88 % of the figures above, but DAF does not publish a usable number, so batteryUsableKwh is left null rather than derived. Motors: PACCAR EX-M1 120 kW and EX-M2 190 kW direct drive (no gearbox); nominal torque 950 Nm (EX-M1) and 1,850 Nm (EX-M2), peak 2,600 Nm and 3,500 Nm respectively - recorded torque is the EX-M2 nominal. Consumption: DAF gives a fleet-wide 0.7-1.2 kWh/km band for its electric range rather than a per-model figure, so consumptionKwhPer100km is null. Cab names taken from the March 2026 UK technical brochure (Day Cab / Extended Day Cab); DAF's own studio renders also show a sleeper-cab XB Electric. modelYearFrom 2024 is the production year following the 23 Aug 2023 announcement - I could not confirm a first-customer-delivery date, treat that one field as MEDIUM. No MCS announced. Battery warranty 4 MWh/kWh throughput or 8 years.
