The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
The top of that band is roughly a third of the price of a European long-haul tractor, and the bottom less still — and that is the most important number in the whole Chinese chapter of this database. The 200 km range looks modest, but the Chinese operating model rests on battery swapping rather than charging. The manufacturer states no test cycle.
Strengths
- The guide price is public, unlike at every European manufacturer.
Weaknesses
- The claim of filling a 355 kWh pack in 1.6 hours at 120 kW is arithmetically inconsistent, so the charging time needs caution.

Battery and charging
- Gross battery
- 348 kWh
- DC charging
- 120 kW
- On charging
- BYD quotes a 120 kW DC port filling 355 kWh in 1.6 h - arithmetically inconsistent (355 kWh in 1.6 h implies ~220 kW). One of the two numbers is wrong; both are reproduced here unresolved. Q3 is a plug-in-charge truck; BYD's swap technology is deployed on its off-highway/mining machines and licensed to XCMG rather than on the Q3 road tractor.

Price and availability
What it costs and whether it is available in Poland
Published price evidence and the Polish availability answer, kept together for a buying decision.
The manufacturer publishes no price for this vehicle.
In heavy transport that is the rule rather than the exception — makers quote on request.
Chinese guide price (chang shang zhi dao jia) for the BYD Q3 electric tractor range: CNY 519,800 - 801,800 across 10 listed variants, per the 360che.com (Kache Zhi Jia) price database. At the ECB reference rate of 1 EUR = 7.85 CNY (22 Aug 2026) that is roughly EUR 66,000 - 102,000 - conversion done by this agent, NOT quoted by any source. No EUR/USD list price exists because the truck is not sold outside China.

Not available in Poland
Not offered in Poland or the EU. BYD's European truck range is the ETP3 / ETM6 / ETH8 / EYT yard tractor; the Q-series heavy tractors are China-only.

Type approval BYD4260DDDBEV. Kerb weight 11,000 kg, max speed 89 km/h, 7,395 x 2,520 x 3,080 mm, wheelbase 3,800+1,350 mm, 12R22.5 tyres, permanent-magnet synchronous motor TZ270XSD. Motor quoted by BYD China as 140 kW x 2 = 280 kW peak, gradeability >30 %. The current Q3 family is offered in 282 / 382 / 452 kWh (short-haul) and 573 / 637 kWh (medium- and long-haul) versions; the 348 kWh figure above is the specific homologated variant on chinatrucks.org, while The Autopian quotes 355 kWh for the same generation - a rounding/version difference, not a real conflict. IMAGE GAP: only one usable photo found; BYD's Chinese truck site is not reachable from Western networks and BYD does not run a public press room for its China truck range.
