Alfen Eve Single S-line Socket Charging Station, 11 kW

PLN 4,655.55

The Alfen Eve Single S-line Socket is a wall-mounted AC charging station with an open Type 2 socket — you charge with your own cable instead of a factory-fitted one. This three-phase variant runs at up to 16 A per phase, for up to 11 kW — that is Alfen's own documented hardware ceiling for the S-line, not a de-rated configuration of a unit that could otherwise do more; the higher per-phase current and power are reserved for the Pro-line tier of the same Eve Single family. Authorization is by RFID card or Plug & Charge mode, with status shown on a coloured RGB LED — there is no display, which is a Pro-line-only feature. The built-in meter is MID-certified, and an integrated 6 mA DC RCD function (compliant with IEC 62955) provides baseline electrical safety. The station connects over Ethernet/LAN or a cellular network (LTE Cat-M1, 2G) and supports OCPP 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0.1. The IP55, IK10 housing (373 x 242 x 138 mm, approx. 4 kg) operates from -25°C to +55°C, suiting both indoor and outdoor installation. Active Load Balancing is available as an option, splitting power based on a P1 DSMR, Linky or Modbus TCP/IP meter reading.

Independent opinion

The EV Compass opinion

What this device is actually good for, and when something else is worth a look.

This is a fit for a home or a single spot at a small business, where the ability to pick your own Type 2 cable instead of a factory-fixed one matters, and 11 kW is plenty for overnight charging. Installation needs a three-phase supply — the station draws up to 16 A per phase; for single-phase power, Alfen offers a separate variant of the same S-line. The housing (373 x 242 x 138 mm, approx. 4 kg) mounts to a wall or an optional pole and tolerates outdoor installation thanks to its IP55/IK10 rating and -25°C to +55°C operating range. Compared with the Pro-line tier of the same family, the S-line has no display — status shows only on an RGB LED, which keeps the price down but limits on-device session feedback. The MID meter and RFID let you bill energy use and restrict access to authorized drivers, though you need to budget for your own charging cable on top. Alfen covers its charging equipment with a standard 27-month service warranty.

Strengths

  • An open Type 2 socket lets you pick your own cable — length, build quality, brand — instead of being limited to a single factory-supplied one.
  • Up to 11 kW on a three-phase 16 A-per-phase connection — a documented S-line hardware ceiling, not a de-rated configuration of a lesser unit.
  • A built-in MID-certified meter supports legally compliant energy billing without extra metering hardware.
  • An IP55, IK10 housing works from -25°C to +55°C, so the station can be mounted indoors or on an uncovered car park.
  • RFID card authorization and an integrated 6 mA DC RCD (IEC 62955) provide access control and baseline electrical safety at no extra cost.
  • Ethernet/LAN or cellular connectivity (LTE Cat-M1, 2G) plus OCPP 1.5/1.6/2.0.1 make it easy to connect the station to a management system (CPMS).

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Why is this station rated at only 11 kW, when Alfen's Eve Single family is sometimes advertised at higher power?

11 kW (16 A per phase) is Alfen's own documented hardware ceiling for the three-phase S-line — it is not a de-rated configuration of a unit capable of more. The higher per-phase current and power are reserved for the higher tier of the same family, the Pro-line; general Eve Single marketing material sometimes doesn't distinguish between the S-line and Pro-line tiers, which can be misleading.

Does the station come with a charging cable?

No — this is the open Type 2 socket (IEC 62196-2) variant; you need your own Type 2 cable to charge. Alfen also offers a variant of the same S-line with a factory-fitted Type 2 cable, if you'd rather not buy one separately.

Can the station be installed outdoors?

Yes — the housing is rated IP55 for ingress protection and IK10 for impact resistance, with an operating temperature range of -25°C to +55°C.

Does the station have a display for viewing charging sessions?

No — status is shown on a coloured RGB LED. A display is a feature available only on the higher tier of the same family, the Pro-line.

What electrical connection does the station need?

A three-phase supply — the station draws up to 16 A per phase, for up to 11 kW. For a single-phase installation, Alfen offers a separate variant of the same S-line.

What warranty does this station come with?

Alfen covers its charging equipment with a standard 27-month service warranty.
