The EvCompass verdict
The key arguments drawn from the published data and the EvCompass editorial summary.
This is the only category in the whole database where prices are public and contracted: Polish municipal tenders publish net sums per unit, because the law requires it. Battery capacity stepped up repeatedly — up to 395 kWh before 2022, then 520 kWh, now over 600 — which shows this class's pace better than any announcement. Built and sold in Poland.
Strengths
- Real, public Polish tender prices per unit.
Weaknesses
- The tender price of PLN 2,375,000 per bus in Wroclaw differs from PLN 2,800,000 in Tychy, so configuration materially changes the cost.

- Depot plug-in (CCS2) is the standard: socket above the front right wheel, up to 240 kW per the manufacturer's technical sheet; an optional second socket can be placed on the left, front centre or right rear. Roof pantograph - both normal (bus-mounted) and inverted (infrastructure-mounted) - is an option for opportunity charging, usually paired with the smaller Solaris High Power (LTO) pack rather than the High Energy pack. Polish tenders commonly specify 80 kW plug plus 200 kW pantograph (e.g. PKM Tychy 2025).

- manufacturer, e-SORT 2 cycle, with the maximum six-pack Solaris High Energy roof battery set (over 600 kWh). Smallest offered configuration is 300 kWh; the 2022 Transexpo sheet quoted 'over 500 kWh'. Real Polish tender specifications typically require only 250-300 km per charge.

2,375,000 PLN
Confidence: High
Transacted Polish municipal tender prices, ex-VAT (netto) per unit: MPK Wroclaw, 7 units, award 14 Apr 2025 - 2,375,000 PLN net per bus (16,625,000 PLN net / 20,448,750 PLN gross total). PKM Tychy, 10 units, contract signed 11 Apr 2025 - 2,800,000 PLN net per bus (28,000,000 PLN net / 34,440,000 PLN gross). The Tychy specification required min. 235 kWh battery, min. 160 kW motor, 200 kW pantograph plus 80 kW plug and min. 260 km range, so it is a small-battery configuration. Headline figure recorded here is the Wroclaw award. There is no public list price.

Research notes
The sources and research notes behind the figures, claims and editorial assessment.
Europe's best-selling electric bus model. Battery capacity has stepped up repeatedly: up to 395 kWh before 2022, then 520 kWh, then 'over 600 kWh' from the March 2024 update (six roof-mounted Solaris High Energy packs). The manufacturer's 2022 Transexpo technical sheet - the most recent full sheet published as a PDF - still says 'over 500 kWh', GVW 18,745 kg, 26 seats, 60 passengers in a 2-2-2 door layout; seat and passenger counts vary widely with configuration and Solaris now quotes up to 41 seats on the current battery layout, so treat seatedCapacity/totalCapacity as one documented configuration rather than a maximum. Motor options are a TSA TMF35-28-4 central motor (160 kW), a ZF CeTrax (220 kW) or the ZF AVE 130 electric axle with 2x125 kW and 22,000 Nm - the last is what the manufacturer's sheet lists. Won Sustainable Bus Award 2025 in the Urban category. Over 2,500 Solaris e-buses delivered across Europe.
